The Grand Patrician Resort
Inspired by surrounding historic landmarks and natural landscape, a full brand identity system was created for this up and coming hotel, resort and spa in West Virginia.
The Grand Patrician Resort
BRAND IDENTITY
Based in Milton, WV and still under construction, the owners of this 109-room hotel and resort, have a grand vision to put Milton on the map and create a landmark property for locals and visitors. As a part of the Wyndham collection, The Grand Patrician Resort has wide, manicured grounds with walking trails, a par-3 golf experience, two chapels, a conference center, and a steakhouse restaurant. The property will also offer the GPR Club, a fitness club with an Olympic-sized swimming pool, elevated track, and outdoor lazy river. The brand identity was inspired but the beautiful, surrounding landscape, the cherry blossom trees that line the walking trails, and the history of the original building. The full brand identity is comprised of a primary logo, logo mark, illustrative pattern of cherry blossom stems, a pink color palette with accents of gold and greens, and a distinctive family of typefaces. Used together, these elements were applied across multiple applications, including signage, drink coasters and barware, business cards and marketing materials, digital applications, and clothing apparel.
A sibling hotel to The Grand Patrician Resort, The Venetian Estate, has strong, historic roots in Milton, WV. Primarily used as a wedding and events venue, the 100 year old house-turned-hotel, was undergoing renovation work and at the same time looking to refresh its brand. The brand identity had to stand out on its own, but relate to The Grand Patrician Resort. Using the same family of typefaces, the logo itself is more upright and linear, reflecting the architecture of the house. A rich, deep green that symbolizes the surrounding trees and landscape, is the primary color with accents of gold. Photography also plays an important role to communicate the wedding and events offer.
